In the summer of 2013 we did more derbys that we usually do, including the Walla Walla Summer demo derby, Walla walla fair demo derby, and the columbia county demo derby. Also this year my car after the first demo derby started giving us trouble. After giving it a complete check up and running it in the summer demo, I took it to the fair demo and I was unable to even get it off the trailer. Its got some carburerator problems that is not giving the engine enough fuel and air. At the Walla Walla County Fair Demo I spent the entire afternoon working on the car on the trailer changing fuel pumps and even tried pulling the carb. Later that same weekend I rebuilt the carb, still no luck. Checked the ECM (Engine Control Module) and discovered its no longer telling the carb what fuel mixture to send. So I am in the market for an after market carbuerator (Holly or Edelbrock) which is spendy ($300-$400) So, I ended up driving my brothers #85 car at the columbia county demo derby which did not make him too happy when a camaro rear ended me and broke his suspension. So for this winter, my #85 car is going to get some a new carb, distributor, new wiring, and bunch of other small things. I gotta admit, doing the demo derby thing is a labor of love, you gotta enjoy working on cars because you work on them, a lot. It also involves a fair amount of cash to keep them going. A used tire mounted on a rim will run you $30 alone, not to menchion
