Working with Pacific Power

Disclaimer - This is my experience working with pacific power and my opinion only. If you are happy with Pacific Power, great. My experience was less then great.

When we decided to buy a lot and build a house on an empty lot just outside of Walla Walla, one of the first things I did was contact Pacific Power to get an estimate on how much cost it would cost to install power to our house. First, I had to contact Carma Carlile and fill out a worksheet. I believe the worksheet is to figure out your power needs for your house, it asks all sorts of questions about what types of appliances you have in your home. This didn't matter in my case since I knew the power type I want to instal (400 amp, single phase, 240 volt, under ground service)

Then I met with Justin Gibbs onsite at our lot. I wasn't impressed with his skill set, but I went with the flow and asked for an estimate. To make a very long story short, it took Justin six months to get this together, and it took us threatening him that we are digging on a certain date, with or without his approval. We gave him almost a month notice. We finally got the contract the day before we were digging, and the estimate was about twice the price we were thinking. Also, the contract provided by Justin had the wrong name listed (my wifes name, my name was not listed) and the type of installation was not listed on the contract. Needless to say, we were not happy.
I kept asking Justin questions why these were not included and then encountered attitude ... and finally he wanted me to ask any further questions to his supervisor Jeff Murphy. Jeff answered most of our questions but has been unresponsive lately.
