Want to build your own shed?

A couple tips if you plan to build a shed Its a TON of work to build a shed. If you can get help, great, but I found help wasn't always real dependable, and had to do most everything myself. So, figure out a way to do almost everything yourself.
The only time I had have help was to pour concrete and put up the trusses, and siding. Everything else I did entirely myself.

1 - Decide what you want to build

2 - Get ahold of the local building authority and see if you can even build it. Its best to walk in with a hand drawing of what you have in mind. They should supply you with a checklist of items you have to have drawn out in the plans.

3 - Submit your application and get issued your permit

4 - Get you hands dirty and start building

5 - Don't get frusterated, I had a fair amount of frusteration with our local building authority. My building was inspected 5 times, two of them didn't pass so I had to re-do them.

6 - It took me about a month more time to build the shed then I originally thought

7 - Expense - The shed ended up costing me almost double the amount then I originally thought it would, but its also stronger then the home depot one and built to code. It won't be falling down anytime soon.
